The Heart of Chesapeake Country is renowned for its outstanding crabbing and fishing. The Maryland blue crab, stripped bass, bluefish, trout, perch, catfish and, more are found in our waterways. Local bait shops are plentiful and required licenses can be purchased at local sporting goods stores. Freshwater sport fishing is available in ponds such as the one in Galestown. A summer day on the bay can net an angler flounder, sea trout, spot or drum. Blues appear in early spring and again in the fall. Rockfish can once again be enjoyed during special seasons.
